More gigs added.

Last year I did well over 100 gigs in english, but sadly I won’t have as much time as I would like to go to the UK this spring. Have added a few more dates though, where I will do shows in english. Most in London but also Amsterdam and Jersey. If everything works out I will also do a couple of dates in Canada. Almost set are gigs in Denmark, where I will also work in english and in the coming weeks a few english gigs in Sweden will be added. I also really hope to be doing Ireland again but I’m not sure I can squeeze it in.

There’s also talk about Slovenia and Australia, but nothing definite yet.

All new gigs are added to the calendar as soon as I have all the info.

DVD shot.

A couple of days ago we shot the last stuff for the documentary about my adventures in english. We also filmed an entire show for my first english DVD. Don’t know yet how and when it will be for sale but I’ll keep you posted. Now the process of writing a new show starts for real. Plan still is to have a new hour by march 1. Gonna do a couple of new minutes in Birmingham this weekend and start building on some stuff I wrote last time I was over here. We’ll see how it goes.

The Glee Club is really nice and I’m looking forward to my four gigs there before going back home to Sweden again on sunday to do the last leg of my tour there. After that I still hope I will get some vacation, but that’s always the hardest part.

More gigs in english.

I’m doing a couple of shows in Denmark next week. 4th in Copenhagen and 5th in Aarhus. They will be hour long shows in english with a mix  of stuff from my scandinavian tour and the stuff I’ve been doing in english the past year. After that I’ll be at The Glee Club in Cardiff to do 3 nights nov 11-13 and on the 16th I’ll go to London to do my last performance of the show I did in Edinburgh. It will also be filmed for a DVD and I aim to get as much as possible on there so it should be a slightly longer version.

After that I hit Birmingham for 3 nights at the Glee Club there and that’s probably the last shows I’ll do in english this year.

Details on all gigs in the calendar.

Bertrand Russell.

What a brilliant mind he had. There are a few people who’s writing can really inspire. Russell is definetly one of them. I urge you all to read his books though some of it is dated, since they’re written a few decades ago. The clarity of thought that man possessed is just… mindblowing. I’m currently reading “The Impact of Science on Society” and “Human Society in Ethics and Politics” and I strongly recommend you do the same. Don’t miss his brick of an autobiography either. It’s a great read and has the added bonus of making you want to write letters. Real letters.

Here’s a clip where he talks about God, that i got through @antteist

Me, in spanish.

Had a great time in Dublin and London. Solo shows in Dublin were sold out and crowd was great. Gonna do that show once more, in London and then I’m gonna start working on a new hour. Same goes for Scandinavia, where my tour ends in about 6 weeks. It will be a pleasant experience to work on the same material in english as in swedish and not jump back and forth between the two as I’ve been doing the past year. My aim is to have a new hour in english by the beginning of march. We’ll see how it goes.

Anyway, I got a clip of my swedish stuff that somebody subtitled in spanish, so I thought I’d post it. No idea if it’s accurate since my spanish is limited to order a beer and ask for the bathroom. But here it is and here is a long text from the person that posted it (that I don’t understand either)

In Dublin.

Arrived in Dublin tuesday so I’ve had a couple of nights off in this great city. Met some friends both from here and from Sweden and just had a great time. Like I always seem to do here. Today we’re gonna try to see some museum, have a couple of pints and then of course work. Got a really nice preview article in The Irish Times and it remains to be seen if that helps ticket sales.

It’s gonna be fun regardless and I also have Abie Philbin Bowman as support, so if you haven’t seen him it’s worth going for that alone. Smock Alley Theatre 8 pm tonight and tomorrow.

Solo shows Dublin and London.

In a couple of weeks I’ll be doing my first ever solo shows in theatres in London and Dublin. Doing 2 dates in each city and I’m really looking forward to it so I hope to see you there. The show will basically be the one I did in Edinburgh during the fringe, so one hour of the stuff I’ve done in english the past year and a half. When these shows are over I’m gonna concentrate on writing a new hour. Been kinda slow in english, I know. Sorry about that…

Anyway, here are a couple of reviews from Edinburgh: Chortle, The List, Festmag

And here is how to get tickets:

London, october 18 and 19 at New Players Theatre

Dublin, october 21 and 22 at Smock Alley Theatre

Clips from Edfringe.

Sadly the guy with the big camera and the good mic didn’t catch much of what I wanted to post to youtube in a room that does it justice so I’m stuck with a number of bad options. Opted for posting two clips with pretty crappy quality but the stuff I wanted to post.

These clips are not from my solo show, but from gigs where I did other stuff. My solo show will probably be posted too sometime in the future. Or it might end up on a DVD. We’ll see. Anyway, here is the first clip. From The Stand and their midnight show.

This one is from Canons’ Gait, also midnight show. In this set I talked about how much I love it here in “England” something I really enjoyed doing on stage in Scotland.

Oh, and while I’m blogging I might as well tell you english-speaking people that I was awarded Male Comedian of  The Year 2010 in Sweden this weekend. I got that one 2005 too and I’m the only one who’s one it twice. Well done, me.

The Meltdown.

My last show in Edinburgh was Late n’ live at Gilded Balloon. To be honest I don’t really remember much of it. Took the stage after 2 in the morning and I had quite a few pints leading up to that. My last solo show had only 7 paying guests. By far my lowest number all festival. Seems like it was the same for everybody. Maybe ending it on a saturday is smarter. Anyway, I had a nice little show. Decided to start the show by re-funding everybody’s tickets from my own pocket and buy them a pint so we could just enjoy the show. Together. Probably did at least 20 minutes that wasn’t supposed to be there. But I had fun.

Day after we had the wrap up party at the Stand. I paced myself, knowing I had to get up, but that didn’t matter. When we got home at 3 or so in the morning I just completely broke down. I have never ever cried so hard. I was screaming. For mom and dad… And then I found my own crying hystercally funny so I just started laughing like a mad man. I mean really. I almost scared myself. And then I started crying again. Hard. Which made me laugh. And so it went, for about an hour. Strangest thing in a long time. But apparently it worked. I feel pretty rested and good to go already.

Also got another review, this one from Chortle. In all I can’t be anything but happy with the impact I seem to have made on the fringe. Good reviews by everybody but the Scotsman (who managed to give me 3 stars for a two star review) and a really good turnout (except for the final night) It was tough, but it was so worth it. Cya next year Edinburgh!
